A piece of media that changed my perspective- Induction task

A piece of media that chnaged my perspective on something is youtube. Youtube helped change my perspectiveon alot of things, this is because of the variety of content on the platform. An example of this is that you could search for anything and it would come up with at least one relevent piece of media, this could be educational or for entertainment purposes. The content on the platform isnt stuck to just one target audience either, which means that everyone can find a piece of media that suits their needs. Another advantage of watching youtube is that you get more of a personal connection with the creator, which could mean that more people will want to watch to watch it. It also enables you to give more personal feedback. Youtube is also a form of media that will carry on giving, with the variety of content increasing every year. Youtube is also easy to create on as well, making it so that even disadvantaged kids with not alot of money can still try to make something of themselves. Alot of youtube channels also handle political debates as well, showing another genre of content. Youtube is also a prime example of how a company can have conversations with it's creators, it's a platform that supports any type of person- whether they're of different skin colour, or part of the LGBT. This means that children that go on youtube can see the wide variety of people in the world, which shows the new generation to accept one another. Various moral debates have also occured because of youtube, with some creators breaking guidlines and basic human morals, but then realising that it is wrong. This helps show the younger people that they shouldn't act a certain way. The fact that the content on youtube is of many genres, targeting different audiences for each one means that it is an easier place for people that like the same type of thing to connect with one another, which also means that you can meet new people on the platform. On the note of creating different pieces of media, you get freedom from that as well- meaning you can express yourself with whatever you would like to do, whilst getting feedback.
